- I am a person who likes people and who enjoys interacting with others. I've been employed as a personnel/training specialist, been part of a start up company, run my own company and I've been a mid-level leader in a non-profit organization. However,this blog is about "being" a leader,hence the title Leading By Being. It's about: Making an impact; making a difference by "being" who you are. It's about being respectful, thoughtful, honest, humble, a learner and just being a decent person. Some leadership gurus and/or experts would call this the "soft side" of leadership. I think that "THE" leadership essential for the 21st century is more about "being" a leader than title, position, etc. As someone has so brillantly noted, "we don't want a sage on a stage but a guide alongside." I want to share what I have learned from "being" a leader over the past thirty plus years as well as what I am learning from those whom I lead as well as those who mentor me or lead me. Leading by being is not some systematic approach but a way of life-a way of living-or being.
